Hi David, I feel exactly the same thing about Facebook. I'm preferring Google+ more and more by the day.
Have not much comments about Netflix, since they just opened like a month or so ago here in Mexico. I'm reading that the list of movies, series, soap operas, etc., is not big yet so it'll take a while until the service gets widely used.

Yes, I loved that comic! I use 1Password for my password management, and I usually let it generate a truly random, long, complicated password for me -- and I never look at it. There are a few sites I really want to be able to log into 'by hand', and for those, I'm moving to the xkcd model, adapted to the site's requirements.

It's a slow process.

I've been strengthening passwords myself, of late, and I've found that while the following comic is, in fact, correct - many sites also require the use of numbers or symbols. http://xkcd.com/936/

I used to do this too, and similarly found it not worth the trouble. Google does a great job of aggregating my 4-5 addresses into Gmail, and don't forget you can use yourgmailid+whateveryouwant@gmail.com. Gmail ignores the +... and just delivers it to you.

Gmail also ignores periods in the user ID, so you can be your.gmail.id@gmail.com or even y.o.u.r.g.m.a.i.l.i.d@gmail.com if you're so inclined.

I am intrigued by you 2 minute timer app. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work on my Windows 7 PC and looks like nothing I am currently (6.21.11) interested works on my Palm Pre "smart" phone. I will buy you a mocha anyway b/c of your excellent PNH (Past Networking History) at ProMatch and the Jump Start Team. Remind me Thursday 6.24.11, and I'll give you a kool looking Starbucks gift card. I also tried to download the Kindle for Windows 7 PC so I could read David Allen's book, but the Kindle server was down. Maybe, I'll go to the Sunnyvale library to put this provocative book on "hold."

Your blog touched me because I contacted someone on LinkedIn to follow-up on a referral today, hearing her colleague's mother had passed and the women was attending her funeral. Reading your blog brings back my own mother's passing four years ago on Valentine's Day. That period was filled with sadness but joy comes present for me now for a number of reasons; 1) my mother was a source of wisdom and possibility; 2) I completed on her long-time request to spread her ashes in a sacred spot in Northern Arizona; and 3) I am probably receiving guidance from her in the form of ideas from other people. I am more willing today to see the wonder of life/death and how we hold living memories of loved ones. Thanks for the reminder...

I certainly hope you don't need it in the near future. But I'm still troubled by the comment. An estimated 50 million Americans live with chronic pain. I was exposed to that for a while (and now get relief from cox2's that are banned in this country). The
idea that doctors are controlling ultram (probably due to legal concerns) reinforces my belief that our healthcare system will due us in.

I was surprised, too, but I suspect that was the doctor's office being extra cautious; I certainly haven't noticed any drowsiness while I've been taking it. OTOH, if I don't need to take the tramadol, I'll be perfectly happy not doing so.

Can't drive on tramadol (generic ultram)? Really, that's like the mother's milk of pain relievers.

I lived on tramadol and vicodin for 5 years for nerve pain relief, with no restrictions. So your comment is surprising.

I've got a Camelbak, but it's got something like a 3-liter capacity. I only need a half-liter at most for the little walks I'm doing (2-4 miles, mostly flat) -- I might just shove a bottle in my jacket pocket!
