Speed Run

To Hawaiian’s credit, once they got the replacement airplane and crew to Maui, things began to happen quickly. They started boarding early, getting us into the air ahead of the revised schedule; they got to Oakland 15 minutes before they expected; and our luggage was in our hands no more than ten minutes after we’d gotten off the plane, something I’ve never experienced before.

It had been many years since we’d flown through Oakland; it’s changed. Probably for the better, but I didn’t stop to admire the changes. :-)

We got home about 5:30am – today’s Mercury News was already waiting on the driveway for us. We’d only slept for an hour or so on the flight, so we crawled into bed and slept until 10am, then went to the supermarket because we didn’t have any food in the house for breakfast (or lunch or dinner, for that matter).

Back to mundane life…would you believe I didn’t see a single person wearing a swimsuit or carrying a snorkel today?
