Memphis – Day 2 (The Evening)

After Graceland, the rest of the day was something of an anticlimax, but that doesn’t mean I can’t blog about it.

We got back to the Peabody about 5:30; there was still a lot of duck traffic waiting for the elevators on the ground floor, so we walked up to the mezzanine to take an elevator down to the ground floor and ride it back up. We got lucky; an up elevator stopped just as we got to the top of the stairs and we were able to squeeze in and go to our room.

After bringing my phone out of its coma, we went up to the Skywalk to admire the ducks and the signs.

We had dinner at Charlie Vergos Rendezvous across the street from the Peabody. It’s an enormous place, mostly underground, with interesting decor.

They specialize in pork, which limited our menu options; we’d been veggie-deprived on the cruise, so both of us went with the Greek salad (with Charlie’s mothers’ real Greek dressing) and BBQ pulled chicken. It was delicious.
