I’m continuing to feel more like myself, and managed to get a few things done today.
- We voted! Instead of dropping our ballots off at the dropbox near us, we drove to the Vote Center a couple of miles away and put the ballots directly into the official ballot box inside. I even chatted a little with one of the poll workers; it felt almost like voting back in the good old days.
- We went out for a couple of walks! We had to go to the Farmers’ Market in downtown Los Gatos to pick up fish for the next couple of days; our usual practice is to walk from downtown to Daves Avenue, then turn around and go back to the car. We didn’t walk quite that far, but I felt comfortable being outside and walking (the weather was beautiful, too). And later this afternoon, we took our usual 2.4-mile round trip walk. I should hit 15,000 steps before going to bed (but I’m still well behind my usual calorie count).
- I fixed some broken code! Some of the services I deal with changed their web pages, and I was able to fix up my code to handle the changes. Nothing exciting or particularly difficult, but it required a bit of concentration.
And beyond that, my watch has stopped telling me that it is detecting atrial fibrillation every couple of hours (it started about the time I was admitted to the hospital last Sunday night). The last notification it gave me was late Friday afternoon; I just asked it to take an ECG and it reported “Sinus rhythm”. I won’t take this as conclusive evidence that my afib has resolved itself, but I’m looking forward to discussing it with the doctor on Thursday.
