Dueling Radios Won’t Work – So Sez Dave

I did some digging on the Radio Userland beta group and found a posting from Dave Winer saying:

Subject: Re: [radio-dev] running two Radios against one site

That should be a FAQ.

It won’t work. Each machine should have its own usernum. That works.

My old computer is on its way to my Mom’s house, to replace her even older computer, so that reduces the number of computers I’d want to be running Radio on by one.

I installed Radio Userland 8 on both of the computers in this room and tried to share a weblog. This doesn’t seem to work well — when I posted from the second computer, it completely overwrote all of the postings I’d made on the first computer. And then going to the first computer made all of the postings from the second computer disappear. And so forth.

I bet there’s a way around this, but I’m not going to try any more tonight.
