We had a smooth trip from Lunenburg to Portland (if you ignore the loss of Internet connectivity for a few hours overnight). When the network came back, Apple Weather’s assessment of our location was both completely accurate and completely useless.

We went up to the top deck for the last half-hour of our sail into the Portland Cruise Terminal; it was a beautiful warm morning and people were enjoying it, both on and off our ship.

We cleared Immigration after lunch and reboarded the ship just in time for our afternoon excursion to Kennebunkport. Our trip included a flight of beers and a choice of clam chowder or chili at Federal Jack’s, as well as a tour led by the brewmaster. After that, we walked into town and looked around, returning with intact wallets.

We drove by Gooch’s Beach, one of the rare sandy beaches in Maine. We didn’t have time to get out of the bus, but we were sitting on the proper side of the bus to have a good view.

And then it was back to the ship to finish packing and prepare for disembarkation too early tomorrow morning.
